What is RU Campus Protestant Ministry? Where is Trinity House? Trinity House is next door to Second Reformed Church (14 Stone Street)! Mike Beals has been serving on the RCPM Board meetings since June 2006. Rev. Barbara Heck is the director and joins us in reaching out to students and leads us on occasion in worship.
Mike offers the following observations about RCPM: The RPCM is reaching out to students in a variety of ways for them to discuss their faith, learn as young Christians and have fellowship together. RPCM will also contact any Reformed Church college students who are currently at RU and invite them to become involved in their programs, but the church must first send contact information to Rev. Heck.
RPCM offers weekly gatherings for students:

We are on Facebook as Trinity House.
Many Reformed churches in the area make RPCM one of its local missions that are financially supported. SRC has not been a supporting congregation of late. SRC might also consider offering its support through in-kind donation of use of the sanctuary for larger gatherings. A student working with RPCM did express some interest in holding a forum on world hunger, sponsored by OXFAM, at Second Reformed Church. This will be something for us to consider in the near future. If you would like to see SRC take a more active supporting role of this Campus Ministry program, either through financial support by making it one of our missions we support, and/or agreeing to have RPCM programs held in our facilities, speak to one of our members on the consistory. Thank You! Phyllis & Mike Beals Do you Possess Worship Gifts? In an effort to keep our services varied and dynamic, the worship committee is looking for people who would like to participate in the services on Sunday mornings. Do you enjoy reading scripture? Would you like to share a message with the children for the Children's Sermon? Are you gifted in writing prayers that you would like to share with the congregation? We’d love to hear from you! There are sign up sheets on the bulletin board in the hall. Please sign up for any activity that you are willing to provide. The worship Committee or Rev. Rienstra will then get in touch with you about when we can use your gift of service. Annie Hays
Christian Education: Traveling with Abraham & Sarah The children of SRC's Sunday School program have been immersed in learning about the promise made to Abraham and Sarah, and their great faith that helped them to trust God and travel far from their home to establish a new home. The students even made traveling satchels to bring home the idea of traveling. The meaning of covenant has been emphasized, thinking about the covenants God has made with his people over time. The greatest covenant of all being in the promise of eternal life for everyone who believes in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. The children have made their own covenants with God, individually thinking about what each can promise, or try to do over the next six weeks to be close to God. One child promises to pray 100 times a day! Another wants to give $2.00 a week to purchase a rabbit for a family in far away lands through Heifer Int’l. Some promise to attend Sunday School 4 out of the next 6 weeks! Musically, they are having great fun with some of the VBS music, led by Alice Beals, Sydney and Georgie Wade! Mrs. Koops has introduced some music for them to participate in Advent worship time. We said a special prayer of thanks for the great service and dedication of Mrs. Koops for all her years of service in music and ministry. Wherever two, three, six or more are gathered in Jesus' name there we will find the spirit of the Lord at work...and so we do! Phyllis Beals
